Standard orthodontic landmarks were used to measure mandibular parameters.</p> <p>RESULTS: In individuals with normal occlusion, the average body-to-ramus ratio was 1.25±0.04, and the mean difference between the alveolar part length and the Go–Pog distance was 3.39±1.31 mm. These findings allowed classification of the cephalograms into 3 groups based on chin prominence length.</p> <p>CONCLUSION: Three main types of chin prominence were identified in individuals with normal occlusion. The average prominence was 3.36±0.56 mm; in long-type chins it measured 6.47±0.51 mm, and in short-type chins, 0.88±0.62 mm. These data may be useful in clinical orthodontics for diagnosing mandibular dimensional anomalies and selecting appropriate genioplasty techniques.</p>
<trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>Актуальность. Полученные данные могут быть использованы в клинике ортодонтии при диагностике аномалий размеров нижней челюсти и выбора методов гениопластики.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>cephalometric radiograph</kwd><kwd>normal occlusion</kwd><kwd>chin prominence</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>телерентгенограмма</kwd><kwd>физиологическая окклюзия</kwd><kwd>подбородочный выступ</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group/></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Krayushkin AI, Vorobyev AA, Aleksandrova LI, et al.
